EOR Albania services that
stand in for your own SHPK.

After you pick a candidate, we draw up the Labour Code contract, declare the start to the DPT a day before it, open lek payroll with bank payment, and file the first listëpagesa when the 20th comes round. Your hire receives a payslip, and you receive a single invoice.

1Managing from abroad

How do you manage Albanian staff under the Labour Code from abroad?

The Kodi i Punës is written in Albanian and enforced by the State Labour Inspectorate (ISHPSHSH). We apply it at each stage below, in English, for managers who sit elsewhere.

  • Probation: up to 3 months, 5 days’ notice
  • 22 working days of leave plus 15 public holidays in the 2026 calendar
  • Sick pay of 80% or more for 14 days, then ISSH takes over
  • Pay rises, new duties and changed hours set out in writing
  • Group dismissals: 30 days of consultation first
  • Notice of 2 weeks to 3 months by service

The rule foreign managers miss most often is the dismissal procedure in Article 144. The employee must get a written invitation at least 72 hours before a meeting, hear the reasons and answer them; the written decision follows 48 hours to one week later. Skipping a step costs 2 months of pay on top of any other award, and the employer carries the burden of proof. After 3 years of service, seniority pay of 15 days a year is due too.

2Lek payroll, 2026

What moves an Albanian payroll bill in 2026?

Four things move the monthly cost. The contribution floor rose to ALL 50,000 in January 2026 with the minimum wage, and the monthly ceiling for social insurance moved up to ALL 186,416. Income tax steps rather than slides: once yearly pay passes ALL 600,000, the basic deduction falls from ALL 600,000 to ALL 420,000. Bonuses join the tax base of the month in which they are paid.

  • Contribution floor of ALL 50,000 from 1 January 2026
  • Social insurance ceiling raised to ALL 186,416 a month for 2026
  • Bonuses taxed in the month paid
  • Night work, 22:00 to 06:00, at +50% or more
  • Interest of at least 10% a year if salary is paid late
Lek payroll panel: ALL 200,000 and ALL 156,790 queued for sign-off
3Bonuses and benefits

How does Albanian payroll treat pay extras?

Each extra on top of salary has its own payroll rule in Albania, and we apply it before the payslip is issued. Benefits in kind may not exceed 20% of monthly pay. A profit share agreed in the contract must be paid within 3 months of the financial year end. Work expenses and tools are the employer’s cost, and a clause folding them into salary is void. Parents can claim ALL 48,000 a year per child under 18 through payroll.

  • Performance and year-end bonuses
  • Profit share within 3 months of year end
  • Benefits in kind, up to 20% of pay
  • Work expenses and equipment refunded
  • Child deduction of ALL 48,000 a year
Albania employer card: 16.7% contributions, ALL 50,000 minimum wage, 22 days leave

Who does what once your hire starts?

1
Holding the contract

Your hire is employed by us on a written contract that covers each item in Article 21 of the Labour Code. We declare the start to the DPT and carry the employer paperwork.

2
Who directs the work

You do. Tasks, goals, hours within the 40-hour week and performance reviews sit with your managers.

3
Who runs the back office

We run gross-to-net, payslips and bank payment in lek, then send the listëpagesa and one payment to the DPT by the 20th.

4
Where foreign managers slip

Annual leave cannot be bought out while someone stays employed. The Labour Code allows payment in lieu only when the contract ends, and leave has to be used by the end of the first quarter of the following year. We track every balance during the year so nobody is left with days that lapse or pile up in March.

How we compare

How does our fee sit against others?

An Albanian hire costs from €599 per employee per month with us, and three of the list prices below are lower while three are higher. What the fee buys is an Albanian contract, lek payroll, the DPT filings and a payroll manager who knows each of your employees by name.

Each list price is the employer of record fee on the provider’s own pricing page, read on 4 October 2026. Converted with the ECB rate for 2 October 2026 (US$1.1225 to €1), our €599 is US$672.38 and Papaya Global’s €650 is about US$729.63. So Deel, RemoFirst and Native Teams list below us, while Remote, Oyster and Papaya Global list above. RemoFirst and Native Teams publish starting prices with no Albania rate. Where a cell holds only a dash, the provider’s page gives no answer.
